Newton mathematically solved gravity. In 1687. But never understood it. 

Died still scratching his head about the odd, what he called Action at a Distance. 

As in. What in the hell is the actual physical thing connecting the Sun to the Earth?

228 years later. In 1915. Einstein zoomed far out. 

Didn't replace Newton's prevailing theory of gravity,

But subsumed it. Added more around it.

Put Newton’s gravity into a way larger context and theoretic view. 

By identifying the actual physical thing that spooked Newton. 

The physical thing connecting the Sun to the Earth is a curve. 

A curve on the space time fabric.

20 years later. In 1935. Einstein and a couple other guys zoomed far in.

Discovered a sort of microscopic gravity. 

Faraway connectivity.

Between separate microscopic particles. 

Separate microscopic particles that are located super far away from each other. 

They called it Quantum Entanglement. 

Died still scratching his head about this, what he called spooky Action at a Distance.

As in. What in the hell is the actual physical thing connecting particles to distant particles?

We are still trying to figure out this answer to this day. 

Most are saying that the connection is some sort of string-like connection. 

But there are many detractors that argue that String Theory is limited, 

Limited to being solely mathematical,

Physically descriptive of nothing,

Therefore physically un-tested because there is nothing physical to test. 

So the jury is still out on Quantum Entanglement's outstanding questions,

What is the actual physical thing connecting particles to distant particles?

What is causing of this Action at a Distance?

Whatever the verdict.

Like a baton in a relay race.
